2009 Purchases, Use and Stocks
- A total of 2 billion kilos of cereals was purchased from farms. Almost half – 900 million kilos – was barley.
- A total of 78 million kilos of turnip rape and rape was bought from farms.
- Industry used a total of 1.3 billion kilos of cereals. Just over 400 million kilos were used for food and about 560 million kilos for feed. About 150 million kilos of barley were used for malting.
- At the end of the year, the stocks held by trade and industry totalled just over 600 million kilos of cereals and almost 20 million kilos of oilseed and turnip rape.
