Description

The statistics contain advance harvest data on Finland’s most important field crops, including cereals (wheat, rye, barley and oats), turnip rape, potatoes, sugar beet and herbage crops.

Content

The statistics contain advance harvest estimates, made in July and August, for Finland’s most important crops. The cereals included are spring and winter wheat, rye, barley, oats and mixed grain. Other plant groups are turnip rape, potatoes, sugar beet and peas. The herbage crops included are hay and silage. Data on the field crop harvest is presented in both kilos per hectare (10,000 m2) and as total yield in millions of kilos.

Data collection and sources

The Integrated Administration and Control System (IACS) is the source for field area data. Per-hectare harvest statistics are based on data for each municipality Tike has sourced from ProAgria’s experts. The statistics show the situation on 15 July and 25 August.

Update frequency

The statistics are drawn up twice a year.

Preparation and publication schedule

Data is published at the end of July and at the beginning of September.

Times series

Data is available from the 1950s onwards.
