Apple Orchard Questionnaire
Purpose of the data gathering
This questionnaire is designed to collect data on the cultivation of Finland’s major apple varieties, the age of apple trees and their planting density.
Target audience
Apple growers with over 0.5 hectares under apples.
Data collection results
The results will be published in the Apple Orchard Statistics and the Horticultural Enterprise Register.
Publish interval
Every five years; next in 2012.
Argument
Article 2 of the Act on Statistics on Rural Industries (1197/1996) obligates Tike (the Information Centre of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry) to compile and publish statistics on rural enterprises. The same law also obligates farmers to provide the information requested for these statistics.
