Number of other Livestock Species

Description

The numbers of poultry and horses on farms are entered in the statistics by Employment and Economic Development Centre twice a year, on 1 April and 1 December. The data are based on the farm survey and the Farm Register. The numbers of sheep and goats are also entered in the statistics by Employment and Economic Development Centre twice a year, on 1 June and 1 December. The figures are based on data that the keepers of sheep and goats have submitted to the Sheep and Goat Register. Data on the numbers of other livestock species are available also by other regional classifications and heard size.

Revisions in this statistic

Statistics on Number of other Livestock Species will be incorporated into new statistics on Number of Livestock starting from statistical reference year 2009.
