Tike’s Statistics Programme
Tike’s Statistics Programme presents the focal points and developmental targets for the years 2009–2013. It seeks to support long-term statistical planning and development.
The majority of Tike’s current statistical operations will continue as before. The greatest challenge of the period is to implement the agricultural census and production method survey. This will be the tenth agricultural census in Finland – the first census was conducted a century ago in 1910. Data on agricultural production methods will be gathered for the first time, and the production method survey will be implemented in conjunction with the 2010 census.
Other new statistics include fertiliser and plant protectant usage, and agricultural energy consumption. Our statistical compilations on food safety, agricultural environmental indicators and rural development will also be enhanced through cooperation with other industry actors.
