During the first quarter of 2014:

 

A total of 589 million kilos of cereals entered the market from farms 

  • Proportion of wheat was 176 million kilos (30%). This is 35 million kilos more than during the previous quarter and 7 million kilos less than during the same quarter in the previous year.
  • Proportion of rye was 3 million kilos (1%). This is same as during the previous quarter and 8 million kilos less than during the same quarter in the previous year.
  • Proportion of barley was 261 million kilos (44%). This is 144 million kilos more than during the previous quarter and 88 million kilos more than during the same quarter in the previous year.
  • Proportion of oats was 148 million kilos (25%). This is 82 million kilos more than during the previous quarter and 19 million kilos more than during the same quarter in the previous year.

A total of 14 million kilos of rape and turnip rape entered the market from farms. This is 13 million kilos less than during the previous quarter and 4 million kilos less than during the same quarter in the previous year.

 

Industry used a total of 325 million kilos of cereals. 107 million kilos (33%) of cereals were used for food and 140 million kilos (43%) for feed.

  •  Proportion of wheat was about 107 million kilos (33%). This is 5 million kilos less than during the previous quarter and 7 million kilos less than during the same quarter in the previous year.
  • Proportion of rye was 23 million kilos (7%). This is 2 million kilos more than during the previous quarter and 1 million kilo less than during the same quarter in the previous year.
  • Proportion of barley was 130 million kilos (40%). This is 15 million kilos less than during the previous quarter and 11 million kilos more than during the same quarter in the previous year.
  • Proportion of oats was 62 million kilos (19%). This is 5 million kilos more than during the previous quarter and same as during the same quarter in the previous year.
